I often use specialty natural fibers, like silk and tencel along with distinctive color stripe combinations for my product line. Newest scarves (pictured above) are hand-dyed silky bamboo, textured bamboo chenille, and cotton.
My designs are handwoven on traditional backstrap looms at two weaving cooperatives in the Highlands of Guatemala - the Asociacion Maya de Desarrollo, and Fundacion de Maya Tradiciones.
I am pleased to be associated with these fair trade/fair wage textile cooperatives. My support provides indigenous weavers with income opportunities
and also helps sustain Mayan textile traditions.
